Welcome to Idaho Volunteer Fire & Emergency Services Association
The Idaho Volunteer Fire & Emergency Services Association was founded in 2006 to represent the approximately 5,500 volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians across Idaho. Our membership is comprised of both volunteer and combination fire agencies.
Our goal is to offer our membership education and training workshops, training and equipment grants, our annual firefighter’s conference, and recruitment and retention information. IVFESA represents Idaho with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and will work to increase the number of volunteer emergency responders to serve Idaho communities.
The main function of IVFESA is to support those who volunteer and also those departments who are desperately trying to recruit more firefighters and EMT’s. We will facilitate this support though many avenues. Our first annual conference was held in September 2006 and will be known throughout the state not only as an excellent training program, but also a great venue to meet and network with other emergency service providers.
Our Members are covered by a $10,000 24/7 AD&D policy and we will pursue additional benefits for Idaho volunteers. IVFESA will be working on the issue of recruitment and retention of quality volunteers in conjunction with representatives from all the fire service organizations in Idaho.
The IVFESA Mission: “Provide Support and Representation for Idaho’s Volunteer Emergency Responders”
